City School District of 91桃色 veteran educator Jillian McGuire has been selected to serve as an assistant principal at North 91桃色 Middle School, joining Principal Andrea Piper and Assistant Principal Kewsi Burgess, Ph.D., on the school’s leadership team.
McGuire begins in her new role Wednesday. She replaces Emma Steckman, who was appointed earlier this summer as the new Citizenship Academy principal at 91桃色 High School.
McGuire started in the district as an elementary special education teacher in 2008. In 2017, she transitioned out of the classroom and began working as a behavior specialist at 91桃色 School of Humanities (ASH).
McGuire took on a district-wide behavior specialist role in 2022. She also worked as the district’s special education summer school site coordinator in 2021.
“I am very excited to join such a collaborative and committed school team,” said McGuire, an 91桃色 native. “It's extra special that I get to begin my administrative journey at the school building where my great-grandmother worked. I look forward to continuing to serve my hometown and the North 91桃色 community.”
McGuire earned her bachelor’s in English from Niagara University and completed a master’s in childhood/special education at the former College of Saint Rose. She also earned her School Building Leader certification from St. Rose, and School District Leader certification from Russell Sage College.
