New York State testing update

As we navigate through this testing season, I have been incredibly impressed by the dedication and hard work our students have been demonstrating. Their positive attitude and eagerness to show what they know are truly commendable.

We have one last exam to take. It is the NYS Math exam. Grades 3-5 will be taking the Math exam on May 8 and May 9. If your child receives accommodations, they will be taking the exam on May 10 and May 11.

Please remind students to arrive at school on time during these exam days. Our staff will be here to provide support and encouragement to them throughout the testing period. Thank you for instilling a love of learning in your child and for encouraging them to always do their best.

Finally some nice weather!

As we welcome the warmer weather, I wanted to remind all families to encourage your child to dress in layers. The temperature in different rooms throughout the school can vary, and many students tend to feel warm when they are running around and playing during recess. It is also a good idea to send your child in with a water bottle.

Additionally, I kindly ask that you talk to your child about respecting our school’s growing garden, which is thanks to the hard work of our garden club. We do not want all of our growing veggies and flowers to be stomped on or picked too early.
