Cooking club is open to all students, but seating is limited to 16 students per 10-week cycle. Students will learn how to follow recipes and work in teams. They will learn about sanitation, cleaning work stations and following guidelines to keep food safe. Other topics include baking, cooking, grilling and sauteing. Club gatherings generally end at 5:30 p.m., but may run to 6 p.m. depending on the activity that day.

Students have the opportunity to develop their creativity, leadership and situational thinking with the 91ÌÒÉ« High Mock Trial/ Speech and Debate team. In the courtroom and in competitions, students will be honing their public speaking skills, creating and defending a position or argument and building confidence. This club is based on simulations in the court room as a lawyer or a witness. Students work individually and collaboratively. Our team works with local lawyers and judges to create a case with a fact pattern that is provided by the NYS Bar association. Additional meeting times will be added once a trial is assigned to the group.

Only open by nomiation by an art teacher to a current art student in grades 10-12, the 91ÌÒÉ« High National Art Honor Society chapter was founded in 2017 and participates in community and school-based arts projects and fundraisers.  91ÌÒÉ« High National Art Honor Society work toward an arts-based field trip each year and assist with the production of the annual AHS CREATE fest which is held in conjunction with the induction ceremony.

We compete in the First Robotics competition. Students work together to design, build and program robotics to compete in various challenges, fostering innovations, teamwork and STEM skills. Students divide into groups focusing on mechanical and programming. Meeting days and times depends on which group a student is participating in as their focus area. Every winter, students from around the Capital Region meet at Ballston Spa to test their science knowledge. Spanning 23 diverse events, Science Olympiad serves as a broad way for students to deepen and develop their knowledge and have the ability to compete with other students with the same goal. If our team does well enough, we have the ability to compete state-wide, against other students at top high schools, further testing our knowledge. We try to make the environment as relaxed and laid-back as possible, to ensure students have fun while studying. The club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. to Jan. and then monthly through the rest of the school year.

Whether you’re carving your first turns or a seasoned rider, Ski Club is open to all skill levels.
