Falcons top section and state rankings; earn podium finishes against Averill Park

Malachi Young , Samir Gardner and Rohan Edwards are three of the top student-athletes in Section II track and field and are also ranked in New York State.

Malachi Young  (grade 12)

  • 110m hurdles - #1 in Section II, top 5 in NYS
  • 200m - #1 in Section II, top 20 in NYS
  • 400m hurdles - #2 in Section II, top 15 in NYS
  • 400m - #10 in Section II, top 50 in NYS

Samir Gardner (grade 12)

  • 110m - top 10 in Section II, top 50 in NYS
  • 200m - #3 in Section II, top 20 in NYS
  • Long jump - #2 in Section II, top 25 in NYS
  • Triple jump - top ten in Section II, top 15 in NYS

Rohan Edwards (grade 9)

  • 100m - #3 in Section II, top 25 in NYS
  • 200m - #3 in Section II, top 25 in NYS
  • Long jump - #5 in Section II

  • Yanaiza Correa-Fredericks - second place 100m hurdles

  • Yasmile Vasquez - second place long jump
  • 4x800m relay team - first place (Janie Hallgreen, Samira Sefadine, Mullin and Penna)

Boys

  • 4x800m relay team - first place - Cameron Volk, Devin Finn, Noah Bizer and Karim Hassy
  • Malachi Young - first palce in 110m hurdles, tied for first 200m, first place 400m
  • Rohan Edwards - first place in 100m 
  • Samir Gardner - second place in 100m, tied for first 200m, first place triple jump
  • Mamadou Barrie - third place in 100m 
  • Troy Treece - first place high jump

The varsity track teams compete against Colonie, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, Ballston Spa, Shaker, Schenectady, Saratoga, Cairo-Durham in an away meet Satuday. Good luck to Coach Amanda Davey, Coach Elliott Croskey and all our student-athletes!
